Mona Hatoum

Mona Hatoum was born into a Palestinian family in Beirut and has lived and worked in London since 1975. Her sculpture, video, drawings and installations have been widely exhibited throughout the world. Since 1994, there have been more than twenty solo museum and institutional exhibitions of her work, the largest and most comprehensive of which was a survey initiated by the Hamburger Kunsthalle that also traveled to Kunstmuseum Bonn, Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall, and the Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art (2004 - 05). Hatoum was Artist-in-Residence on the DAAD program (Berliner Künstlerprogramm, Deutscher Akademischer Austrauschdienst) in 2003-2004 and has since divided her time between Berlin and London. In 2011 she had solo exhibitions at Alexander and Bonin, New York and White Cube, Mason’s Yard, London. Recently, Hatoum had solo exhibitions at the Goetz Collection, Munich and Arter, Istanbul.
